It has been a short four years since the Edo period came to an end, with the era of Meiji in full force. The modernization brought by the hands of western powers from the United States and Great Britain has brought about great, rapid change for Japan. But there is still great work to be done.
In an effort to fully cultivate and secure the future that has laid itself out for the country, an anonymous individual, one claiming to be of great status and nobility has summoned the names of sixteen individuals, each possessing a one-of-a-kind attribute, unique to them. Their purpose?
To work together and lay out the path for Japan's future.
But all is quick to go awry. Upon the sixteen’s arrival in Kyōto Prefecture they find themselves alone and trapped within an unfamiliar town, and at the mercy of an unknown enemy, who give them a new purpose.

To get all others killed and become the sole victor.
